According to the Global Business Travel Associations' quarterly outlook report, companies and individuals will spend more than $1 trillion on business trips in 2013—the most ever and rising in the years ahead. As more employees travel, navigating change throughout their trips remains constant: gate changes, flight delays or cancellations, extended trips or shortened trips.
As mobile adoption grows around the world, corporate travelers are turning to their smartphones and tablets to aid them. In fact, a recent Future of Travel survey from Expedia® and Egencia® found that 18-30 year-olds are far likelier than 46-65 year-olds to consider mobile devices to be central to their travel experience.
"Business travelers are competitive and want quick access to information to stay productive," said Rob Greyber, president of Egencia. "When wheels hit the ground, they are the first to power on their phones looking to see if their travel plans remain intact or if a change has occurred. The future of travel requires travel management companies, like Egencia, to stay focused on delivering sophisticated solutions, from mobile to innovative agent-assistance, that delight discerning travelers while helping travel and procurement professionals manage costs and keep their employees safe on the road."
Lisa vanOmmen, president of the Puget Sound Business Travel Association, adds "We're honored to have Rob Greyber from Egencia speak about the future of the global corporate travel marketplace and how to succeed in a traveler-centric and data-driven world. Our November meeting will be one of our chapter's most interactive discussions, and we encourage attendees to come prepared with thought-provoking questions and big ideas."
Event registration is required. Cost is $40 for members, $50 for non-members or $400 for a table of 10. To register, please visit: http://www.psbta.org/events/links/EOA6491.
