Society of Digital Agencies' "Big Ideas and BBQ" – Saturday, March 9
Big Ideas and BBQ, hosted by the Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) and open to the public, includes a series of panel discussions on the topic of digital innovation. EffectiveUI President, Anthony Franco, will join DJ Edgerton, CEO of Zemoga, Steve Glauberman, CEO of Enlighten, and Alexander Morris, senior project manager at Adobe, to discuss "The Latest Trends and Debates around User Interface and Digital Design Tendencies," moderated by David Shing, Digital Prophet at AOL. GoodxGlobal – Sunday, March 10
A daylong event held by World Food Program USA, United Nations Foundation and Social Good Summit Austin, GoodxGlobal will focus on how the power of social good, technology and entrepreneurship can solve global challenges, such as access to clean water, food, health and education. EffectiveUI is a sponsor of the event, and Rebecca Flavin, CEO of EffectiveUI, will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Cody Switzer, Web editor of the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and titled, "Tech Powering Effectiveness." Flavin will join Ned Breslin, CEO of Water For People, and Eric Stowe, founder and director of Splash, to discuss how technology is helping nonprofits manage and visualize data in order to shift away from conventional reporting and to show impact and incite action. SXSW Interactive Awards Ceremony – Tuesday, March 12
Water For People, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to improved water and sanitation systems and services in developing countries, is a finalist in the SXSW Interactive Awards for its Re-imagine Reporting Prototype, designed and developed by EffectiveUI. The platform is a visual, engaging way for the organization to show its donors and stakeholders the real impact of their contributions, as well as showcase field activity and results. The platform is a finalist among four other entries in the Activism category, and awards will be presented at a ceremony from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. CDT at the Hilton Austin Downtown, 500 East 4th Street, Austin Grand Ballroom, 6th Floor.
