E&E Launches EnergyWire
Daily News Service Focused on Unconventional Fuels
WASHINGTON, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Environment & Energy Publishing LLC, (E&E) today announced the debut of EnergyWire. A daily news service for professionals who deal with energy issues, EnergyWire focuses on the business and political issues surrounding the rapidly expanding unconventional energy industry.
EnergyWire joins E&E's four other daily news services covering energy and environmental issues and is designed to bring readers deep, broad and insightful coverage of shale oil and gas development, deepwater and arctic drilling, enhanced oil and gas recovery, environmental concerns, pipeline infrastructure, finance, regulatory and legislative issues and much more.
"The time seems ripe to launch this news service," said E&E Editor-in-Chief Kevin Braun. "Unconventional energy development is having a profound effect on local economies, balance of trade, mergers, acquisitions and investment. There are a host of questions about environmental implications, and the fight over the XL Pipeline is just the tip of the geopolitical issues stemming from the emergence of these previously untapped resources."
EnergyWire is led by veteran editor Amy Carlile, who most recently served as deputy editor of E&E's Greenwire news service. Her staff of more than a dozen reporters includes award-winning journalists with collectively more than 150 years of experience covering energy issues. The team includes Peter Behr, Joel Kirkland, Colin Sullivan, Mike Soraghan, Margie Kriz Hobson, Steve LeVine and many others. EnergyWire reporters are based in E&E's Capitol Hill headquarters as well as Houston, New York City, Beijing, Shanghai and Europe.
