Edward M. Kennedy Institute Statement on the Passing of Senator Howard Baker

BOSTON, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement was released today by President of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute Board of Directors, Victoria Reggie Kennedy, on the passing of Senator Howard Baker (R-TN):

"Today, we mourn the passing of Howard Baker--a great legislator and a great man. My husband Ted worked very closely with Senator Baker over the years, on issues ranging from taxes to voting rights. A true champion for the people of Tennessee, the 'great conciliator,' was always looking for ways to find common ground in Congress.
