MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial services firm Edward Jones has announced that Gary Reamey, leader of its operations in Canada since 1994, will step down at the end of the year. He will continue as a senior partner with the firm and a member of the firm's senior management team until the end of 2012 when he retires after a 35-year career.

David Lane, 47, a partner with the firm since 1998, will assume leadership in Canada. Lane will also join the firm's senior management team. Lane relocated to Canada in 2010 with responsibility for financial advisor recruiting, training and branch development.

After a successful career as a financial advisor in the US, Reamey, 56, moved to St. Louis in 1989 and was responsible for the US fixed income and equity trading areas. In 1994, he spearheaded the firm's international expansion efforts when he was named leader of the Canada operations, Edward Jones' first venture outside the US.
Under his leadership, the firm has grown to more than 600 branch offices in Canada. The firm has branch offices in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
Lane was one of the firm's top-producing financial advisors after joining Edward Jones in 1987. He moved to the US home office in St. Louis in 2006 and served in a variety of leadership roles before relocating to Canada.
In Canada, Edward Jones employs nearly 1,500 associates in branch offices and at the Mississauga, Ontario home office.
