Educational Speaker Showcases to Highlight SOCMA 95th Annual Dinner
Sessions to focus on TSCA reform, global economy and crisis management
WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) will hold its 95th Annual Dinner on December 5, 2016, the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan in New York City – and feature educational sessions on Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) reform, the economy and crisis management.
A time-honored tradition, SOCMA's Annual Dinner brings together hundreds of specialty chemical industry leaders and their customers for an evening of fine dining, networking and celebration.
This year's event will have two educational tracks – one on the economy and crisis management and a second on TSCA reform. Peter Tanous, Founder and Chairman of Lynx Investment Advisory, and Christopher Lukach, President of the Anne Klein Communications Group, LLC, will focus on the economy and crisis management. Tanous, who has become a regular attendee at the Annual Dinner, will once again provide SOCMA members and guests with an economic update following the presidential election. Lukach will discuss the importance of crisis communications. The afternoon session also features a parallel session focusing on Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) reform for the C-Suite with Jamie Conrad, an attorney with Conrad Law & Policy Counsel, and Beth Bosley, President of Boron Specialties.
"Now that Toxic Substances Control Act reform is complete and the Environmental Protection Agency is implementing the new law, it is more important than ever for our industry leaders to understand how it will impact not only their processes but their company's bottom line," said Jennifer Abril, SOCMA President and CEO. "It is also important for our members to have insight into the economy and understand how to handle crisis situations, so we are very excited to gain insight from these two outstanding speakers."
Another highlight of the evening is recognition of SOCMA's Performance Improvement, Sustainability and Educational Outreach Award winners.
Motivational humorist Mack Dryden will be the featured entertainer at this year's Annual Dinner. As a comedian he's performed on dozens of TV shows, including The Tonight Show with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. As an actor he's appeared in several movies and on many other TV shows, including JAG and a recurring role as a judge on ABC's The Guardian.
Registration fee for both the dinner and reception is waived for credentialed press, but space is limited. Contact Jenny Gaines at (202) 721-4123 to RSVP.
