Education Management Corporation Appoints Tyler D. Gronbach as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications
PITTSBURGH, July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Education Management Corporation (NASDAQ: EDMC) today announced the appointment of Tyler D. Gronbach as senior vice president (SVP) of corporate communications. Gronbach, who joins the company on Aug. 1, 2013, will report to Joan H. Walker, executive vice president, corporate and government affairs.
In his new role, Gronbach will be responsible for developing and executing internal and external communications strategies aimed at highlighting the unique approach to and value of an education gained at the colleges and universities of the company's four educational systems, including Argosy University, the Art Institutes, Brown Mackie Colleges and South University. As SVP, he will also serve as the company's main liaison with the media.

He has developed integrated communications programs to support business transformations and mitigate significant financial and reputational crises," said Walker. Prior to joining Education Management, Gronbach held the position of Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications at Dex One Corporation, where he was responsible for developing the overall integrated communications strategy and objectives for the company. In addition, as a member of the senior leadership team at Dex One, he helped drive digital sales growth in excess of 30 percent in 2012 and repositioned the brand from a yellow pages publisher to a digital marketing services leader.
Prior to his role at Dex One, Gronbach served in a number of roles of increasing responsibility, including Vice President, Corporate Communications at Qwest Communications International Inc., a Fortune 500 telecommunications carrier. He also served in leadership positions with other telecom and public relations agencies.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Marist College.
