WESTPORT, Conn. and AUSTIN, Texas, April 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Entrepreneurs launching education, toy and gaming companies will take the stage to raise startup funds during the fourth-annual Sandbox Summit @ MIT, http://www.sandboxsummit.org, a two-day conference for educators, researchers, game and toy designers, developers of education software, app developers, and pioneers in media and entertainment technologies, that explores how technology is changing the way kids play, learn and connect.
ShowStoppers® and Sandbox Summit® today announced they are partnering with LearnLaunch, Launch.it and the New York Angels to add a ShowStoppers Launch.it pitch event for startups and investors to the second day of the two-day conference, which takes place 15-16 Apr. 2013 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA.
For more information and to apply for one of the presentation slots, visit LearnLaunch at http://learnlaunch.org/2013/01/sandbox-summit-2013.
The presenters are also eligible to exhibit at ShowStoppers @ Sandbox Summit, a two-hour event on the first day of the conference that organizes hands-on product introductions, previews and demonstrations by select companies for conference attendees and journalists.
Applications will be screened by LearnLaunch, a non-profit organization based in Boston, MA., that is expanding the education innovation ecosystem in New England by driving the growth of learning and education technology companies.
A panel of experienced angel investors and venture capitalists organized by LearnLaunch and the New York Angels will select the finalists. One of the largest and oldest angel groups, New York Angels, http://www.newyorkangels.com, is a member-led organization committed to finding, funding and mentoring great young companies from pitch through a successful exit.
The pitch event is powered by Launch.it, a startup based in New York City. Launch.it is a self-publishing event news and social engagement platform that "leaves no new product, service or idea behind." The Launch.it platform gives companies built-in social networking tools to engage directly with media and consumers around the world. ShowStoppers works with Launch.it to power a ShowStoppers-branded news service that is socially engaged to better connect startups and industry leaders with consumers and journalists.
