Longtime Education Innovator, Paul Lincoln, Takes on New Role for Leading International Educational Solutions Provider
NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- EdisonLearning, a leading international educational solutions provider, has named Paul Lincoln as the company's new Chief Operating and Education Officer. Lincoln has a deep knowledge of the EdisonLearning model having founded the organization's operation in the United Kingdom in 2003.
"Because educational and operational excellence is critical to meeting the needs of our partners and helping students succeed, Paul is a natural to lead our efforts in these areas," said EdisonLearning President and CEO Jeff Wahl. "He has a thorough understanding of the ingredients of outstanding schools, having honed his skills during the 19 years he spent as a highly successful teacher and leader in state secondary schools in England."
Lincoln recently has been serving as EdisonLearning's interim Chief Education Officer. Previously he was Managing Director of EdisonLearning Limited in the United Kingdom and had transitioned to Executive Chairman of the new EdisonLearning Limited Board, which oversees the company's international operations. He expanded the EdisonLearning model internationally when he founded the wholly-owned United Kingdom subsidiary of EdisonLearning and has led successful growth efforts there and in the Middle East.
"Under his leadership, our operations in both regions have achieved positive results, which support our reputation as an organization with a track record of helping students succeed," Wahl said.
Prior to his work with EdisonLearning, Paul Lincoln was at the forefront of innovation in relation to student motivation, curriculum, effective learning and staff development. He led the turnaround of one of the largest local education authorities (school districts) in Essex, England with responsibility for 600 schools, which was praised by Ofsted – the government oversight agency.
"Paul's experience and expertise will be tremendously helpful in enhancing our education offerings and services in the U.S. and sharing best practices throughout our organization," Wahl said. "The principles of quality teaching and leadership are universal, and we fully understand the need to prepare young people for a true global marketplace."
