HarbourVest Global Private Equity is a Guernsey-incorporated, London/Amsterdam-listed closed-end investment company that aims to deliver long-term capital appreciation while avoiding undue risk by investing in a portfolio of private equity investments diversified by stage, geography, strategy, and industry. 

HVPE's current discount of nearly 18% compares with a private equity sector average of about 15%, excluding 3i, and c 16% for a subset of fund of fund companies. In view of the company's performance record there would seem to be scope for the discount to narrow. To this end the board maintains a focus on improving the liquidity in the shares and is working on transferring its listing to the London Stock Exchange Main Market with a move to a single, voting share class forming part of this process.
