EdgeWave Promotes Steve Kelley to Chief Executive Officer, Appoints Louis Ryan as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors
Experienced Executives Will Work Together to Drive EdgeWave's Growth Strategy
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EdgeWave®, Inc., which provides unparalleled inbox protection from today's exploding messaging threats, today announced that the company recently promoted Steve Kelley to serve as CEO and appointed Louis Ryan as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Previously, Kelley had served as President and Ryan as CEO of EdgeWave. The two executives will continue to collaborate on driving company strategy through EdgeWave's next growth phase.
"The board and I are confident that Steve is the best person to lead EdgeWave as CEO as the company accelerates growth," Ryan said. "Email users worldwide face an onslaught of socially engineered attacks, which makes our mission to deliver the World's Safest Inboxes™ more important than ever before. With the experienced and dedicated EdgeWave team, our patent-pending technology and Steve's leadership, I'm excited about our future."
Ryan brings more than two decades of experience to the Executive Chairman role, having served as a board member since 2006 and as chairman since 2008. His broad experience in the technology industry includes key founder and leadership positions at several startups, including Delrina and Living VideoText, which were both sold to Symantec Corp., and Entercept Security Technology, which was sold to McAfee, Inc. Ryan remains an active investor and board member in the technology space.
Kelley has more than 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity sector, serving in crucial leadership positions at Trustwave, BeyondTrust and Websense prior to joining EdgeWave. Earlier in his career, Kelley cofounded and served as CEO of Taasera, which pioneered the "trust as a service" model for preemptive breach detection and protection before the company was sold to Full Circle Investments. Kelley began his career at Accenture.
"I'm excited to lead the EdgeWave team as we move into our next growth phase as a disruptor in the email security space," Kelley said. "EdgeWave has developed a unique, holistic approach to email security — covering predelivery protection, postdelivery detection and incident response — that sets our platform apart from traditional and emerging email security providers. I'm grateful to Lou and the board for this opportunity, and I'm thrilled to continue working alongside the amazing EdgeWave team as we continue to close the gap in traditional email security solutions.
