WASHINGTON, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EDENS, a leading national retail real estate owner, operator and developer, is leading the retail revolution through art, gathering places and new shopping and dining at Mosaic.
Spanning two million square feet of retail, restaurant, office, residential and hotel space, EDENS is continuously redefining the neighborhood experience for consumers at Mosaic. With two parks, fountains, big screen media, live music, a farmers market and more, EDENS brings together design, curation and engagement for the Northern Virginia community in the heart of Fairfax County.
"We are continuously innovating for new, discoverable moments to create interesting conversation and lasting memories," says Katie Bucklew, VP of Development at EDENS. "Retail is social, so adding art at Mosaic brings that evolving shopping and dining experience that connects us to our communities."
EDENS has selected both local and national artists to bring Mosaic's vibrant community connection to life through art. These murals, installed in unexpected places around the property, span more than 300 feet in three discoverable locations around Mosaic. Bursting with geometric shapes and pops of eye-catching color, the artists include Kelsey Montague, lauded for her larger-than-life and posable artworks; Lela Brunet, nationally known for her energetic patterns and colors; and Craig Clinkscales, a 23-year old budding visual artist from Washington, DC.
Adding to the uniqueness, Mosaic has become a launch pad for digitally native and first-to-market brands, including Custom Ink, Sophie Blake, True Food Kitchen and Oath Pizza. Additionally, EDENS has continuously curated a top-tier national and local retail mix, welcoming five more "firsts" to Mosaic.
- Sundance (November 2018): Sundance, a national retailer, offers women's clothing inspired by American artisans, rustic furniture and home décor. Mosaic will be the first in the DC area and their second East Coast location for the retailer who originated as a catalogue and e-commerce brand.
- Erin Condren (November 2018): Erin Condren produces colorful stationery, planners and deluxe paper accessories. Previously an online-only retailer, this is their first shop on the East Coast and second nationally.
- MacMillan Whisky Room (Spring 2019): This brand new whisky bar will offer hundreds of whiskeys, specialty tastings and a full menu in a sophisticated, upscale setting.
- RyuKai (Fall 2019): A sophisticated Japanese BBQ and soba noodle restaurant by the owner of The Spot, this restaurant will include a demo kitchen where master soba noodle maker Shuichi Kotani will hold seminars on the art of soba noodle making.
- Parc Bistro (Fall 2019) Famed D.C. restauranteurs, Ian and Eric Hilton (also known for his work in musical group Thievery Corporation), will open their first Northern Virginia restaurant in Mosaic. The brothers are known for their concepts Chez Billy Sud, Players Club and The Brixton.
Barnes and Noble, with a new-concept format, will also join these retailers in June 2019, as well as complement recently opened Caboose Brewery, Nook, Poké Bar, West Elm, bartaco, Little Dipper Hot Pot and Cheesetique.
