Edeniq Names Dr. Dan Michalopoulos as New Vice President of Technology
Strategic addition of business and chemicals expert signifies commitment to advancing optimization solutions for the sugar based economy
VISALIA, Calif., Jan. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Edeniq, Inc., a biomaterials and sustainable fuels company, today announced Dr. Dan Michalopoulos as a key new addition to the company's core technology team. Dr. Michalopoulos brings over 20 years of experience in both business and academia across chemical technology and alternative fuels sectors to his new role at Edeniq.
Most recently Dr. Michalopoulos served as Director of Technology at Ineos Bio, where he was responsible for successfully leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists in designing an ethanol manufacturing process that couples biomass gasification with anaerobic fermentation. Dr. Michalopoulos earned his BS and PhD degrees in chemistry from Lowell Technological Institute and Colorado State University, respectively, and served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Rice University.

Specifically, Dr. Michalopoulos will assume a pivotal role in the continued development and deployment of Edeniq's unique enzyme strategies. He brings to bear both a wide experience base and deep fundamental chemistry knowledge to further strengthen this core expertise within Edeniq.
Dr. Michalopoulos will complement Edeniq's existing technology team, led by Dr. Griffin. In addition to his interdisciplinary breadth and R&D management depth, Edeniq will benefit from Dr. Michalopoulos' seasoned professionalism in personnel development and team management as the company continues to grow.
