Edelweiss Goes Electric With Zero Motorcycles

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., July 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --Zero Motorcycles, the global leader in the electric motorcycle industry, today announced that the global leader in guided motorcycle tours, Edelweiss Bike Travel in Austria, now offers zero-emission Alpine tours on Zero's high-performance electric motorcycles.

Edelweiss Bike Travel has purchased a fleet of six Zero Motorcycles: four Zero S ZF11.4 and two Zero DS ZF11.4 are available for the tours. All motorcycles are equipped with the additional 2.8 kilowatt-hour Power Tank for maximum range, bringing the total battery capacity to 14.2 kWh per bike, making daily routes of 125 miles (200 km) possible, even in the Alps.

The travel specialists offer weeklong tours from their office in Mieming, Austria. Covering over 600 miles (1000 km), many famous alpine highlights will be seen while riding in near silence: the Stelvio, Timmelsjoch, the Silvretta High Alpine Road, Reschensee, Hahntennjoch, Kühtai, Gavia Pass, Dolomites and the Mendel Pass. Participants will stay in cozy hotels with regional flair.
