ecoSTORE USA Baby Care Products Earn Highest 'Chemical Free' Scores in Independent Testing!
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- New studies reveal Americans are simply saturated with toxic chemicals, but a leading ECO products company is helping American families do something about it. ecoSTORE USA, a Michigan-based manufacturer of environmentally-friendly household cleaning and baby products, today announced that all five of their baby products received top ratings for having almost no harmful chemicals in their ingredients.
The testing of ecoSTORE USA baby care products was undertaken by an independent laboratory and the results provided for consumers to view at Skin Deep (cosmeticsdatabase.com), a safety guide to cosmetics and personal care products created by the Environmental Working Group.
"We're elated by the results. Our baby care products are not only delightful to use, they're completely safe for baby," said Lyne Appel Downing, vice president of operations for ecoSTORE. "We've invested significant dollars validating what we already know…that our 100% plant- and mineral-based products are among the best out there."
Products tested were ecoSTORE USA's Sleepy Time Bath, Baby Shampoo, Baby Body Wash, Baby Moisturizer and Baby Nappy Balm. Based on the testing, all scored in the safest possible range of Skin Deep's rating system.
EWG's Skin Deep rates products based on the toxic chemicals found in independent testing on a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 indicating "low hazard" and 10 indicating "high hazard". ecoSTORE USA's baby products consistently scored in the safest 0 to 1 range, with four of five products scoring a healthy zero.
"Bringing competitively priced products that truly work and are safer alternatives for our families and the planet has always been our mission. We continually update our formulas as new research emerges to ensure effectiveness and health," said Downing.
ecoSTORE USA's products offer "full ingredient disclosure" under the Precautionary Principle that if there is one ingredient that does not meet the company's standards, they look elsewhere for ingredients which are both effective and transparent.
ecoSTORE USA products are available through several major retailers, including Duane Reade of New York and Michigan-based Meijer Inc., which currently carries several of their baby care products.
The future holds more good news for eco-inspired consumers. New legislation slated to be passed near the end of 2010 will call for transparency in labeling and ingredients. This has encouraged forward-thinking manufacturers like ecoSTORE USA and retail partners like Meijer and Duane Reade to take an even more active role in bringing better alternatives to moms and families.
Upcoming promotions at Meijer stores in August and September will focus more consumer attention on ecoSTORE USA's superior, baby-friendly product line. Tactics like this, it is hoped, will encourage eco-minded moms to frequent these retailers for a healthy assortment of ecoSTORE's products.
ecoSTORE USA has also recently partnered with Healthy Child/Healthy World, a nonprofit organization inspiring parents to protect young children from harmful chemicals and endorsing products they deem safe. (go to healthychild.org)
