ECM Industries Announces Leadership Change with Appointment of Mike Masino to Chief Executive Officer; Current CEO David Scheer Transitioning to Executive Chairman
Former President of Gardner Bender Steps into CEO Role to Lead Organization
MENONOMEE FALLS, Wis., Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ECM Industries which consists of a portfolio of leading industry brands serving the electrical maintenance and repair, lighting, gas utility, and irrigation markets today announced the appointment of Mike Masino as Chief Executive Officer. Current Chief Executive Officer David Scheer will be transitioning to the role of Executive Chairman. The changes are effective November 5, 2018.
Under Scheer's leadership, the company has undergone a major transformation since the divestiture from Actuant Corporation in 2013. Under private ownership, including the current private equity sponsor, Genstar Capital, the company has grown dramatically by repositioning its brand portfolio, acquiring six market-leading companies, and making critical investments in infrastructure, technology, and multi-channel sales and marketing resources. ECM Industries was formed in August 2018 when Brunswick Corporation acquired Power Products' Marine and Mobile Division, and the remaining Electrical Construction and Maintenance Division was rebranded as ECM Industries.
Scheer commented, "Mike is uniquely qualified to lead ECM moving forward. He has been with Gardner Bender and Power Products totaling over 15 years and has been a key leader integrating our 2 most recent acquisitions, Bergen Industries and King Innovation. Mike knows our business and understands the needs of our customers and has built an organization to take advantage of opportunities in multiple sales channels and diverse end markets. In addition, Mike is a problem solver, and he is dedicated to our customers' success. I am very excited for him to take ECM to the next level and look forward to working with Mike and the executive team in my new role."
"I want to thank David, the entire ECM team, Genstar, and our Board of Directors for their confidence in me," said Masino. "I rejoined Gardner Bender in 2014 because of David's vision for the future and the renewed emphasis on growth. It has been a remarkable experience helping to build the business during the last 5 years, and I am very excited in my new capacity to continue this journey."
