PITTSBURGH, July 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ECHO Realty announced today that it has purchased a portfolio of 8 Harris Teeter and Publix anchored shopping centers throughout the Southeast. The portfolio includes 4 Harris Teeter anchored properties in North Carolina, including Beau Rivage Marketplace in Wilmington, The Shoppes at Highland Creek in Charlotte, The Village at Byers Creek in Mooresville, and a free-standing Harris Teeter on Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills; 2 Publix anchored properties in Florida, including Partin Village in Kissimmee and Shoppes at Price Crossing in North Port; 1 property in Virginia, a free-standing Harris Teeter on Baltic Avenue in Virginia Beach; and 1 Publix anchored property in Georgia, Riverwood Town Center in Evans. The acquisition adds over 500,000 SF to ECHO's shopping center inventory. This announcement comes just a month after announcing ECHO's purchase of Purcellville Gateway, a Harris Teeter anchored center in Loudoun County, VA. The recent high quality, grocery-anchored, shopping center purchases are part of a portfolio growth strategy for ECHO to expand and diversify its asset base. "We are very excited to have the opportunity to add these high quality grocery anchored centers to our portfolio. The centers fit perfectly with ECHO's strategy of acquiring well located centers anchored by the number one or two grocer in the market," said Tom Karet, CEO of ECHO.
