"Unequal is the best performing sports protection of its kind and we're excited to partner with 1223 Lacrosse to bring that level of protection to young athletes and their parents in the greater Chicago area," said Rob Vito, CEO of Unequal Technologies. "With Unequal products now available at 1223 Lacrosse, we're helping more young athletes 'Play It Safe' in competition."
Unequal products for the head, body and feet use a patented military-grade composite fortified with Kevlar®, Accelleron™ and optional ImpacShield™ to provide superior protection trusted by thousands of professional athletes in the NFL, MLB, NHL, Major League Lacrosse, and X Games, as well as at universities, high schools and youth leagues across the country. Typically less than a quarter of an inch thick, the Unequal composite helps disperse impact forces.
Owned and founded by Cezar Camba, 1223 Lacrosse will offer Unequal protection from Midwest distributor Echelon Sports Armor. Top products include:
MAXX – supplemental head padding engineered for lacrosse helmets. When added to a helmet, Unequal supplemental head padding reduces the Severity Index (SI) – a measure of risk or injury – by as much as 50 percent. The Unequal BAND, also designed to reduce SI, is for use in women's lacrosse, and men's and women's soccer.
Cobalt Protective Shirt – padded pockets protect the shoulders, ribs, spine, chest and forearms with Unequal pads. Pads are removable and the shirt is made of machine washable moisture wicking compression material.
Viper Girdle – five padded pockets protect the hips, thighs and tailbone.
Insoles – Unequal insoles fortified with Kevlar® and Accelleron™ reduce impact forces normally generated with each step.
Camba said, "As the parent of a lacrosse player, I want the best head protection available for my son. I added the Unequal MAXX to his helmet, and based on the results, worked with Echelon Sports Armor to offer Unequal products to all lacrosse parents in the area. Unequal's technology helps 1223 Lacrosse achieve our vision of becoming the area's leading lacrosse destination for training, facility rental and equipment and apparel sales."

Remember, head and body protection are the second line of defense. Being careful and responsible is the first priority. Helmet and body pads do have limitations. No helmet pad can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports. Scientists have also not reached agreement on how the results of impact absorption tests relate to concussions. No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact absorption tests. Unequal products are not bulletproof, bullet resistant, stab resistant or stab-proof. Obey the rules and "Code of Conduct" of the particular sport, game or activity. Use common sense and practice safe sports. For more information, visit www.unequal.com.
