And sure, authorities spent $200,000 retrofitting the 1979 Rolls Royce, adding bullet-proof glass and armor plating, sealing windows against possible noxious gas attack, and installing an intercom system so that conversations with those outside would not require an open door or window.

And yeah, this ride has a pedigree unlike any other. It's the documented, embassy-owned Silver Wraith II that squired none other than Princess Diana and Prince Charles during her first-ever visit to the United States in 1985.

Now imagine picking up this beauty for a song. No way? Yes way. Anything's possible as the lustrous silver Rolls with red leather interior is put up for no-reserve auction Friday, Nov. 9.

The Volo Auto Museum is auctioning the Rolls, along with seven other celebrity cars on eBay. The auction began Friday, November 9th and will end the morning of Friday, November 16th.  Bidding starts at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time and will remain open one week.

Just think; Twenty-seven years ago this month the United States welcomed her Royal Highness for her first visit. In this very car. And yours could be the bid that clinches the keys. It could be $50,000, $150,000 — or it could be $5,000.
