MADISON, Wis., Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EatStreet has been named as one of Madison's Best Places to Work in 2018 by Madison Magazine.
The national online food ordering and delivery company headquartered in the heart of Madison, EatStreet ranked eighth in the large category, which includes companies with 101-plus employees. For EatStreet CEO and co-founder Matt Howard, the company's most precious resource has always been its people. They're the backbone to creating an environment that allows every employee to be successful, he said.
"Being recognized as a great place to work is a testament to our employees," Howard said. "We may be a technology company, but it's the EatStreet people – their hustle, humility and intellect – that make coming to work each day a rewarding experience."
EatStreet, which has previously been named to the Best Places to Work list, continues to move the tech scene forward in Madison. While company perks, such as a dog-friendly office, are abundant, Howard said it's vital to continually nurture a healthy culture, especially as the company continues to grow nationally.
"We build trust within our organization to create an environment where employees feel they can be authentic, ask questions and share ideas freely," Howard said. "When everyone knows they can create without criticism or backlash, it allows us to foster the innovation needed to be successful."
Madison Magazine's Best Places to Work survey begins with an open call to businesses for nominations. All employees are sent a 60-question web-based survey from an independent company to measure:
- Communication and resources
- Individual needs
- Manager effectiveness
- Personal engagement
- Team dynamics
- Trust in leadership
The results are compiled and analyzed to determine which organizations have the highest levels of employee engagement, according to Madison Magazine. Winners were selected from more than 125 nominees.
