MADISON, Wis., Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Forbes has named EatStreet co-founders Matt Howard and Alex Wyler to its prestigious 2018 30 Under 30, unveiled today.
Howard, CEO, and Wyler, chief technology officer, were named to the consumer technology category, marking the first time Wisconsin tech startup leaders were chosen by Forbes for this category. The 30 Under 30 includes 600 winners, ranging from top entrepreneurs and innovators to philanthropists and difference-makers.
"Matt and Alex had a vision from day one to build a pioneering, tech-based business in the Midwest," said Joe Kirgues of gener8tor. "Being named to Forbes 30 Under 30 is reflective of their dedication to creating a successful business and solving a problem consumers care about."
Inclusion on the list further solidifies that EatStreet's ongoing growth and customer-focused strategies are not only effective, but also respected nationally. The recognition comes on the heels of consistent national sales growth, the addition of delivery as a core service and more than $38.5 million in venture capital funding.
Howard and Wyler co-founded EatStreet in a University of Wisconsin dorm room in 2010 to address food delivery problems they faced: trivial consumer delivery fees and lackluster service to restaurants. They've since built an intuitive online food-ordering and delivery platform, including a website and apps, to provide an experience that erases the distance between hungry and happy for 1.7 million diners in 250-plus U.S. cities.
"It's amazing to be recognized on this list with other young people who are improving and changing the world," said Matt Howard, CEO of EatStreet. "This recognition is a big deal for us, but we hope it goes beyond that by bringing more attention to our Midwest tech community, which is vibrant and full of talent."
