BOSTON, Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Municipal Bond Fund (NYSE MKT: EIM) (the "Fund"), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three and nine months ended June 30, 2013. The Fund's fiscal year ends on September 30, 2013.
For the three months ended June 30, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $12,989,151 ($0.191 per share). For the nine months ended June 30, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $39,121,030 ($0.574 per share). In comparison, for the three months ended June 30, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $12,751,045 ($0.187 per share). For the nine months ended June 30, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $39,056,734 ($0.573 per share).
Net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended June 30, 2013 were $88,547,643 ($1.298 per share). Net realized and unrealized losses for the nine months ended June 30, 2013 were $102,072,504 ($1.498 per share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended June 30, 2012 were $19,745,202 ($0.290 per share). Net realized and unrealized gains for the nine months ended June 30, 2012 were $68,310,828 ($1.003 per share).
On June 30, 2013, net assets of the Fund were $858,772,453. The net asset value per share on June 30, 2013 was $12.60 based on 68,168,250 shares outstanding. In comparison, on June 30, 2012, net assets of the Fund were $921,331,554. The net asset value per share on June 30, 2012 was $13.52 based on 68,123,883 shares outstanding.
