Eat24 Now Accepting Money Shots
Eat24 and Card.io turn your iPhone and Android into an instant credit card reader
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eat24.com, the top online destination for food delivery & take-out, has recently partnered with Card.io, a credit card scanner app. Now, when you check out from any of Eat24's 20,000 restaurants, you can just snap a picture of your credit card to pay your bill using your smartphone's built-in camera. The revamped Eat24 app automatically extracts your credit card information in a single tap, similar to mobile check deposits.
"Instagram makes your pictures pretty, but it can't pay for dinner," says Nadav, co-founder of Eat24. "Our app lets you use your smartphone camera to pick up the tab. Just point the camera at your credit card to scan and use the photo to pay for food. Money shot!"
Card.io, which was recently bought by PayPal, features a 256-bit SSL-encryption that never stores your credit card, ensuring every order is safe and secure. There's no additional hardware, and just like any other order from the Eat24 app, it's 100% free. The new feature is available for both iPhone and Android users.
"We're always looking for ways to make the ordering process faster and easier for our customers," says Nadav. "Nobody enjoys typing lengthy credit card numbers on a mobile device, especially with thumbs as big as mine. With the Eat24 app, you'll never have to, so you can save your fingers for something else."
