The NFP is one of the largest events on every trader's monthly calendar as it can have a huge impact on the markets – moving currency prices in a flash. Head of Content and Social Media, Charlotte Day, says, "We launched our company Facebook page in October 2013 and were looking for ways to excite and engage our fans. Given the importance of the NFP and the consistent nature of its reporting on the first Friday of every month, it was the perfect choice and our fans love it."
The first competition ran on April 2014 and had over 20 guesses. The announcement was for March's unemployment change which came in at 272,000 and the winner was R. Chandra from Indonesia with the closest guess at 245,000. Today the competition gathers interest from over 150 monthly participants from all over the globe. Charlotte says, "Women tend to do very well in our NFP competition – taking into account our mostly male fan-base and client profile, women have outperformed men on a percentage basis." Think you know what this month's NFP report will be? Like us on Facebook and enter your guess to be in to win $300 in credits*.
