Easter Seals New York and the New York State Fraternal Order of Police Provide Thanksgiving Meals and Hope for Families in Port Jervis
Easter Seals New York Board Members and the New York State Fraternal Order of Police will distribute turkeys, canned food and other essential items to local families in Port Jervis.

PORT JERVIS, N.Y., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On November 22nd, Easter Seals New York, in partnership with the New York State Fraternal Order of Police, and Easter Seals New York Board Members, will host its annual Thanksgiving Outreach at Easter Seals New York's Child Development Center, Project Discovery in Port Jervis. Hundreds of local individuals in need of holiday meals are anticipated to come to the outreach to receive turkeys and other trimmings to provide warm turkey dinners for their families this Thanksgiving.

The New York State Fraternal Order of Police, Surgeon's Lodge 3, and Easter Seals New York Board Members donated the majority of funds to buy the turkeys and other Thanksgiving trimmings. Other essential items, such as clothing and canned food, will also be distributed at the outreach.

In the last year, Easter Seals New York served nearly 4,600 people and distributed approximately 35,000 tons of food to families in Port Jervis.
