Early Exclusives Blur Black Friday Predictions via FatWallet.com
Black Friday ads have started to leak, but major retailers' bigger focus is on rewarding members and early holiday deal hunters with an exclusive head start to doorbusters and the more coveted Black Friday deals.
BELOIT, Wis., Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FatWallet, where savvy shoppers share coupons and earn cash back at over 1,800 stores, says this will be the biggest, and earliest, Black Friday shopping season in history. The FatWallet Black Friday Deal Finder is expected to host more than 50,000 holiday deals (up from 37,000 in 2013) featuring hundreds of Black Friday ads, from early November sale items through 2014 Cyber Monday deals. Early sales will showcase thousands more items than previous years, with big retailers pushing member exclusivity by offering a chance to purchase Black Friday deals before they're available to the public. Many retailers will start their Black Friday deals on Wednesday, both online and in-store, ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend.

"Retailers will be rewarding members with earlier access to pre-Black Friday deals, door busters and limited, but coveted items. This will surely be a pricing factor for deals during Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Monday," states Brent Shelton, FatWallet Online Shopping Expert. "Our smart FatWallet members will look to stack increased holiday cash back on top of these exclusive opportunities."
This year, with new smartphone and tablet deals available weeks ahead of early Black Friday sales, FatWallet is forecasting the biggest discounting ever on consumer electronics, mobile devices and accessories, and a record selection of Black Friday clothing deals and dozens of top brand storewide discounts 40-60% off. Complete Black Friday predictions are available at FatWallet.com and include:
- HDTVs: Following a record number of Super Bowl TV deals last February, we've seen a year of consistent discounting on quality models, so we expect more and better Black Friday TV deals than last year. Look for 42" HDTVs for under $250, 50" models under $300, higher quality or smart HDTV deals under $500, and off-brand 4k TVs at similar pricing.
- Laptops: Expect the price of basic 15" laptops to drop below $200 and many mid-level touch-screen models with Intel Core i3/i5 processors to fall below $300. Some lower level hybrids like the ASUS Transformer fall below $400, and Microsoft Surface Pro 3 below $600. High-level hybrids will have competitive Black Friday discount savings of $200 or more, and Black Friday Macbook deals from $150-$250 off list.
- Tablets: A slew of new tablet launches will drive down prices of previous tablet versions, much cheaper than last Black Friday, including Galaxy Tab 3 under $120, Surface Pro 2 under $400, the highly rated Nexus 7 below $100 and Kindle Fire HDX below $150. New iPad Air 2 deals and iPad Mini 3 deals will come with gift cards up to $100 during Black Friday.
- Smartphones: Expect top stores like Best Buy, Walmart and Target to offer the iPhone 5S deals for $0 and a bonus in-store gift card (w/2 year contract). Gift cards will also drive the price down on new iPhone 6 deals, possibly as low as $99 for 16GB models. Samsung Galaxy S5 and other new android smartphones will see similar discounting with 2 year contracts.
- Gadgets and Games: Expect Xbox One bundles for $350, PS4 deals bundled around $400, and iPod Nano and iPod Touch deals at $89 and $200, respectively, and Beats Solo HD under $150. Roku 3 deals drop below $70 and Apple TV deals below $80. With anticipation of Apple Watch, Nike Flex and Nike Fuelband will fall under $90 and smart watches will be heavily discounted at 25% or more.
