Eargo Dials Up Service & Support For All Those With Hearing Loss During Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency
Direct-to-consumer company to provide free, remote access to licensed hearing professionals in addition to a number of offerings to ensure those with hearing challenges can receive the help they need from the comfort of their own home by calling 1-800-885-HEAR
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- In light of the temporary closure of hearing care centers across America due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Eargo announced today that it will be expanding support and services throughout the crisis by offering access to its experienced team of licensed hearing professionals for free to all who need it - regardless of whether they are an Eargo customer. To help all with hearing needs, Eargo has set up a hearing hotline at 1-800-885-HEAR which will be available Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM ET. Also available at no cost are hearing health educational resources that can be found at eargo.com.
To soften the financial investment, Eargo will also be offering special financing for its innovative line of hearing aids and has waived handling fees. The introductory price for its latest product - the Neo HiFi - will be extended into April as well.
"Over the last few days, we have seen cities across the country ask citizens to do their part in preventing the spread of coronavirus by remaining indoors," said Christian Gormsen, CEO of Eargo. "While we support this effort, we know that social isolation puts a tremendous burden on both the livelihood and health of those in affected areas by limiting access to specialists and services. We want to make sure anyone who is experiencing hearing difficulties, whether you're a customer or not, has access to licensed hearing professional support. Your hearing health is our top priority, and we will continue to be available to all to address their hearing health needs whenever they need it, wherever they need it."
Eargo will also offer all of its devices available for purchase at 0% financing over 24 months to make it financially easier to own a hearing device today. Devices will be available for purchase indefinitely at shop.eargo.com or via phone to be delivered to your doorstep. In addition to that, Federal employees and retirees who are members of the Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan, will have special access to expedited shipping.
As always, Eargo customers will continue to have free access to a licensed hearing professional to answer any questions they may have on hearing loss and their hearing solution needs as made possible via the company's unique phone and web-based business model. A recent statement by Patrice Harris, President of the American Medical Association, called remote care services "critical to the management of the COVID-19, while also ensuring uninterrupted care for 100 million Americans with chronic conditions." The Eargo hearing hotline will remain open for the duration of the pandemic to any and all who are worried about their hearing loss and would like to speak to a licensed hearing professional at no cost.
The company will also be publishing unique health and wellness information that is designed to provide guidance to older adults who are most vulnerable during this period. Content will include information on how individuals can manage their hearing loss, as well as general wellness guidance to help them respond to this challenging time.
