Eagle Asset Management Appoints James Camp as Managing Director of Strategic Income
Move reflects Eagle's innovations for clients in a rising rate environment
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Dec. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle Asset Management, an affiliate of Carillon Tower Advisers and a global provider of equity and fixed-income products for institutional and individual investors, is pleased to announce that James Camp has been named Managing Director of Strategic Income. Mr. Camp also will continue as Managing Director of Fixed Income, and his new title reflects an added focus to expand the offering of specialized income products to meet the needs of sophisticated investors.
"For the first time in a generation, investors are faced with rising rates and the prospect of inflation," said Cooper Abbott, president of Carillon Tower. "Successfully navigating these headwinds is a vital, but under-appreciated, risk that Eagle's experienced team is directly addressing. It reinforces our mission as partners in asset management."
"My team is excited for the opportunity to expand our current responsibilities and work to meet clients' evolving needs," said Mr. Camp. "As demographic changes increase the demand for conservative income options, the ability to offer a suite of income solutions to address specific goals and adjust to a changing rate environment will be an important differentiator for Eagle."
Mr. Camp has 29 years of industry experience with the majority spent at Eagle Asset Management. His current role includes Portfolio Manager of the Strategic Income Portfolio (SIP), a risk-focused investment program designed to seek stable and growing income as well as the potential for capital appreciation. Additionally, Mr. Camp is Portfolio Manager of the Vertical Income Portfolio (VIP), which aims to maximize an investor's yield potential by using a capital-structure agnostic approach. While Mr. Camp continues as Managing Director of Fixed Income, his new title reflects his expanded role to augment the slate of offerings with more dynamic allocation solutions.
"James' long tenure and insight into factors driving performance of income-producing assets has proven invaluable to clients and advisors," said Court James, Executive Vice President of Carillon Tower. "Since joining Eagle more than 20 years ago, he has been a champion and ambassador for various products and has been a meaningful part of their successes. His new title reflects our ongoing efforts to serve clients by creating more income products under the Eagle umbrella. We look forward to supporting James' team."
