E3 2014 Dominates World Stage As Global Video Game Industry Converges For Annual Flagship Event
Savannah College of Art and Design Wins College Game Competition
LOS ANGELES, June 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- 48,900 video game industry professionals, investor analysts, journalists, and retailers from more than 100 countries attended this week's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced today. ESA also revealed that E3 2015 will take place on June 16-18, 2015, in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Approximately 200 exhibitors showcased the latest in computer and video game hardware and software, including the unveiling of the titles that will be the hottest computer and video games this holiday season and into 2015. E3 attendees secured more than 28,000 total hotel room nights and generated nearly $40 million in revenue for the city.

E3 2014 broke its previous social media numbers across all social channels recording more than two million posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram combined. E3 dominated trending lists on social media with more than 100 unique E3-related topics reaching the trending list in the United States and worldwide.
The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) was also announced today as the winner of the 2014 E3 College Game Competition. SCAD's video game, Prisma, was selected by a blue-ribbon panel of industry professionals as the best submission. This is the second winning year for SCAD, which was a co-winner in the 2013 competition. Today, more than 380 U.S. colleges and universities offer courses and degrees in computer and video game design.
More than 300 buyers from retail stores and chains worldwide participated in E3's VIP Retailer Program - an elite service that provides buyers top-level concierge, travel, and hosting services.
E3 is the world's premiere trade show for computer and video games and related products.
