E2020 Inc. Goes 'Back to School' with Courses Based on New Interactive Instructional Model
High engagement curriculum - media-rich, personalized - appeals to today's digital learners
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- E2020 Inc., one of the fastest-growing providers of online learning solutions, announced today that it has released a large selection of courses for the 2012-2013 school year. These courses were built on a new instructional model and expressly designed to meet state and Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
This series of courses provides an enriched teaching and learning experience that promotes mastery of subjects through more problem-solving and analysis. It nurtures developmental skills with conceptual understanding, mathematical modeling, performance tasks, and argumentative writing, all requirements of the Common Core.
"Our goal is to deliver effective and engaging curriculum to help schools meet the challenge of career and college readiness," said Sari Factor, CEO of E2020, Inc. "To excel, students need to be able to think critically, solve problems, and synthesize ideas, and then to apply what they have learned in multiple contexts."
The new model recognizes today's learners as digital natives. It features enhanced graphical and navigational features and digital tools that strongly appeal to students' way of processing and engaging with content. For example, a text mark-up and language support tool called the CloseReaderTM, an interactive periodic table, and an online graphing calculator are now embedded into relevant assignments. For educators, technology is used to drive direct, effective instruction through functionality like an easy review of student responses to embedded tasks.
Factor added, "E2020 is a very contemporary model for learning. We are using the power of technology to foster comprehension in a way that is superior, and far more dynamic than conventional textbook lessons, and to support virtual and blended environments as more districts seek alternatives."
