E-J Electric T&D Assists In Hurricane Irma Recovery Efforts
NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the aftermath of the record-breaking Hurricane Irma storm, E-J Electric T&D, the transmission and distribution affiliate of E-J Electric Installation Co., sent 150 line workers, 75 pieces of equipment, and other supplies to Florida to assist Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and Duke Energy in relief efforts in many impacted areas.
Throughout various locations in Florida, the E-J Electric T&D, FPL and Duke Energy teams provided electrical restoration services, including major power line repairs, to help millions of people left without power after the storm hit.
"The impact and destruction Hurricane Irma had on numerous lives, buildings, and electrical services in Florida and the surrounding region was unexpected," said E-J Electric President & CEO Anthony E. Mann. "Our team was happy to join local electrical service providers to provide aid and help bring power to many areas left without it.
E-J Electric T&D's Commitment to Service
E-J Electric T&D was launched in 2012 to assist with emergency restorations in the northeast region, as well as other nearby areas impacted by storms and unexpected weather patterns.
"We concentrate on the northeast, but we make our services available to other geographic areas when disasters strike," said E-J Electric T&D General Manager Joe Rubino. "We have worked in Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Florida and Georgia, and will go wherever we can if we're able to assist. We understand that many towns and cities don't have the capabilities to plan for the impacts of large-scale storms – and that's where our company is able to respond."
E-J Electric T&D has recently increased their equipment and tooling supplies to prepare for the increasing number of storms causing outages and damaging electrical equipment in the northeastern United States.
