E-cigarette Manufacturer KIMREE Listed in the Top 10 of 2016 Chinese PCT Applications Companies
SHENZHEN, China, April 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the world intellectual property organization, the total number of applications for PCT in China in 2016 is 43,168, increasing 44.7% compared with last year. Among those applied enterprises, Huizhou Kimree Technology Co., LTD (called "Kimree Technology" for short) ranked in the top 8 in China and the top 95 in the world with the quantity of 201 PCT applications. This ranking is higher than Tencent and DJI. And it's the only enterprise in the e-cigarette industry whose amount of PCT applications has shortlisted in the top 10 of China, and the top 100 around the world.
Based on its numbers in 2015, Kimree Technology has already became "the top 10 enterprises with PCT applications in China" in the year of 2014. This also marks the first time for an e-cigarette enterprise to get into "the top 10".
"In the knowledge-based global economy, more and more creators and innovators rely on intellectual property to promote and maintain their global competitive edge," the director of WIPO, Francis Gurry says, "Among the increasing applications for international patents and trademarks, a large number of applicants are Chinese. China is promoting the transition from "made in China "to" created in China", they are making big progress in the process of enterprise internationalization."
Compared the ranking of 2016 with that of 2014, we can see that the amount of patent applications is increasing for enterprises such as Alibaba Group, HUAWEI, ZTE Corporation and Kimree Technology. As the only one e-cigarette enterprise among the "top 10", there is no doubt that Kimree pays special attention to innovative research and development. At the end of 2016, Kimree has applied for more than 3,500 patents in China and abroad. Its patents has been adopted by many of the famous e-cigarette brands and distributors.
A great enterprise should have several important patents. It is hoped that more and more enterprises in China can pay attention to patents, not only on the quantity but also on the quality.
