E. A. (Larry) Drummond, Deceased At 68
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elbert Allen (Larry) Drummond, 68, of Jasper, Alabama, Vice Chairman of Drummond Company, Inc., died on July 30th, 2012 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Larry is survived in the company by older brother and CEO, Garry Drummond and younger brother and Executive Vice President, John Drummond and nephew and Executive Vice President, Segal Edward Drummond, Jr.
Over the years Larry was heavily involved with domestic and international coal sales and was instrumental in fostering business relationships with Japan that continue today. He assumed additional complex responsibilities as Vice Chairman of the corporation and Chairman of its Executive Committee.
Drummond Company, with annual revenues of four billion dollars, has coal mining operations in Colombia, South America with thermal coal production of over 30 million tons per year and in Alabama where its annual production of metallurgical coal exceeds 3.5 million tons.
