Dyson Racing's G-OIL® Sponsored Mazda Lola Wins American Le Mans Series LMP1 Championship
Secures coveted Michelin GREEN-X Challenge Trophy for 2011 Season
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Earth Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: GETG), a leading manufacturer and marketer of "green" environmentally safer consumer packaged goods and products, announced today that at the closing race of the American Le Mans Series, the Dyson #16 G-OIL® ModSpace/Construct Corps car won the American Le Mans Prototype (LMP1) class and the Michelin Green X Challenge for the 2011 season.
In the Le Mans Prototype class, the #16 Dyson Lola-Mazda dominated the point's standings, winning the drivers' championship for Guy Smith and Chris Dyson, the team championship for Dyson Racing and the manufacturer championship for Mazda. Dyson's success also led Dunlop to its first ALMS tire manufacturer championship. Dyson Racing won first place points at the season-opening 12 Hours of Sebring and built the championship momentum from there.
Part of the American Le Mans Series, the Michelin Green X Challenge is a revolutionary 'race-within-a-race', that judges all Series manufacturers and teams on their overall performance, fuel efficiency and environmental impact at each event. Points are awarded to teams in either the LMP or GT categories.
"We are delighted with the championship results this year. Green Earth Technologies' support of the team this year was indispensable," said Rob Dyson, Owner of Dyson Racing Team. "GET has recognized that the American Le Mans Series is the Global Leader in Green Racing. Our alignment was a perfect fit and we were proud to fly the G-OIL flag up front this year. We look forward to even better things together in 2012."
"Winning, while providing safety and respect for the environment is at the heart of Green Earth Technologies' philosophy. Being a part of the winning Dyson Racing team while winning the Michelin Green X Challenge is a validation of the genuine spirit of innovation that drives us every day to develop products that consume the least amount of fuel and have a minimal impact on the environment, all while optimizing performance. We are extremely proud to have served a role with the winning Dyson Racing Team," said Jeffrey Loch, President and CMO of Green Earth Technologies.
