Dynamic Sports Management Makes Power Play
LI's Largest Sports Management Company Hires Former Stony Brook University Athletic Director Jim Fiore
MELVILLE, N.Y., Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Since its inception in 2011, Dynamic Sports Management (DSM), located in Melville, N.Y., has emerged as a leader in management, marketing and event operations through its tailored expertise in sports programming. To further expand, develop and enhance the business development of the agency, DSM has named Jim Fiore as partner, president and CEO. Fiore will be responsible for the overall management of the company and is charged with developing a business model designed to drive revenue growth, participation, event and entertainment operations, multimedia presence and overall strategic planning.
Fiore has substantive experience in all areas of sports entertainment. He spent 10 years as director of athletics at Stony Brook University (SBU) and served in leadership capacities at Princeton University and Dartmouth College in the 11 years prior. Most recently, Fiore served as a consultant for the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils, as well as several other organizations.
"Jim is one of the most innovative, results-driven executives in the industry," said Scott O'Neil, CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center. "He leads with passion, purpose and integrity, and has the ability to build a championship culture that will drive DSM toward their ambitious goals."
The 2012 Under Armour Northeast Region Athletics Director of the Year, Fiore presided over one of the most remarkable transformations in college athletics history. Under his leadership, Stony Brook won 41 conference championships compared to one total championship prior to his arrival in 2003.
"I am extremely impressed with the leadership abilities of Jim Fiore," said Rick Pitino, University of Louisville Cardinals men's basketball coach. "He is a person with boundless energy, passion and toughness, but more importantly, he is a principled leader and an individual who leads with intelligence, purpose and empathy. A proven leader with proven results. Dynamic Sports is extremely fortunate to have Jim join the organization as partner, president and CEO."
Building the fiscal integrity of SBU, Fiore secured an astounding $50 million for athletic facility enhancements and program development and is credited with raising more than $25 million and designing the new Island Federal Credit Union Arena that opened in the fall of 2014. Additionally, Fiore obtained the two largest private philanthropic commitments to an athletics program in the history of the State University of New York system. He grew the athletic budget from $7 million to $23 million and guided the development of the football program from zero scholarships to fully funded status and two consecutive top ten FCS finishes. He elevated all of Stony Brook's women's athletic programs to fully funded status and in 2012 the baseball program made a historic run to the College World Series.
"I am honored and thrilled to join the Dynamic Sports Management partnership," Fiore said. "This is an appointment I accept with great pride, humility, appreciation and respect. I have passionately served in capacities of leadership, organizational management and revenue generation within a variety of industries, and I plan to bring the same energy, focus and growth fulfillment to DSM. We will provide unparalleled professional service to our clients and grow revenue systematically. Our comprehensive business strategy will be accomplished by integrating a well thought out vision, mission and successful culture while leaning on the passion of our partners and talented staff."
In conjunction with the hiring of Fiore, DSM has rolled out a new website, www.DynamicSportsManagement.com . The user-friendly site integrates a multitude of services offered by DSM and provides an easily navigable format.
As the economic scope of athletics strengthens in the region, an impressive resume supports DSM's thriving organizational model since its inception in 2011, which has witnessed dramatic annual revenue growth. Annually, DSM hosts more than 30,000 tournament participants, 10,000 training and camp participants, and 1,500 year-round club team participants who compete in the national event circuit. The efficient infrastructure of DSM has been facilitated through the efforts of nine full-time staff members as well as 1,300 independent contractors.
"DSM is at an exciting point in our evolution where we have the ability to move the brand forward and bring clients and athletes into the spotlight," DSM spokesman Raymond J. Suris, Esq. said. "Our future is incredibly bright knowing the track record and business acumen of success and leadership Jim Fiore brings to our organization as partner, president and CEO. The marketplace demands state-of-art facilities and superior athletic training programs that are supported by established sponsors, and we are very confident and excited knowing that our dramatic upward trajectory will continue with Jim at the helm."
Dynamic Sports Management provides a professional and energetic environment for participants to learn, develop and enjoy athletics through competition, training and mentoring, as well as unique spectator experiences delivered through industry-leading sports and entertainment event operations.
