DVDFab Releases Two Official Updates in One Week
BEIJING, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Fengtao Software Inc., the leading multimedia software company majoring in DVD, Blu-ray copying and video converting, released two official builds in the past week, with Qt 8.1.7.3 on April fool's day, and Qt 8.1.7.5 in April. The density of this kind of official release does not happen often. So, what's new in these two official releases? Here is a closer look:
DVDFab 8.1.7.3 Qt was released on April 1
It was on April first that DVDFab announced the new official build, Qt 8.1.7.3 and, it was a real release, not for fun. In this minor upgrade, developers improved the disc opening speed with multiple active drives, while a virtual drive was also included, and the reliability of source disc detection was enhanced. It also supports a newly released movie in its DVD copy software.
The major improvement in this build actually was the support to BDAV disc in Blu-ray Copy -- a special format used by Blu-ray recorders in Japan. Users can use "Main Movie" to copy it to normal BDMV format which can be played on normal Blu-ray players. The BDAV disc format is the consumer oriented alternative to the BDMV discs, with the latter mainly made by professional authoring houses for movie releases. BDAV was designed in part to provide compatibility between AVCHD digital camcorders and Blu-ray players, but, usually, it is provided with no menus, trailers etc, compared with the BDMV disc.
Another important new feature in Qt 8.1.7.3 was the added option to copy Blu-ray 3D disc or 3D Blu-ray ISO file to Blu-ray 3D folder using "Copy as Blu-ray 3D" in Blu-ray Copy Full Disc mode. Although it greatly enhanced the convenience, it was in fact conditional, to use this new feature, "create .miniso" must be enabled, and BD50 was the only output size for the time being. The "BDMV\STREAM\SSIF" folder will not be copied from source to save disk space. To playback the Blu-ray 3D folder, users need to mount the "dvdfab.miniso" with DVDFab Virtual Drive v1360 or above, and the SSIF folder will be re-created automatically in the virtual drive. This version was currently not reachable, but its replacement is still ready for download at http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm
DVDFab 8.1.7.5 Qt was out on April 7
Only six days later, another minor update, DVDFab Qt 8.1.7.5, was available, but, in this build, people will not see much improvements, it mainly improved compatibility with some new DVD drives, fixed a crash problem when converting "Dragon Ball GT" in DVD Ripper, and a TotalMedia Theatre 5 playback problem which occurred in the last version in Blu-ray Copy. To check out this latest build, it is available at http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm
