DVDFab Homebrew Technology Clears the Way for Blu-ray Backup
BEIJING, March 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Fengtao Software Inc., the leading multimedia software company majors in DVD, Blu-ray copy and video converter, has now announced a new technology in Blu-ray copy - StealthyClone. This new technology aims to solve the vital problem in Blu-ray copy and Blu-ray backup.
StealthyClone, the bottleneck-breaking technology, solely developed by Fengtao Software Inc., is to provide a unique solution to backup Blu-ray discs. It can quickly and efficiently deal with the new Screen Pass and other structural schemes, in order to make Blu-ray Copy entirely easy and simple.
Background: As an inside practice, Blu-ray discs only use the protections that they are originally designed with to fight against piracy. But, due to the advanced piracy in recent years, those old technologies seem to be fading out day by day. Hence, studios begin to seek other ways: audio watermark serves as an option and, structural protection another. For Blu-ray, a new developed scheme titled Screen Pass comes forth to fill that new vacancy.
How it works: Screen Pass, a Java based (BD-J) structural protection, will come into power to check whether the disc being played is original or a clone. Later, the user will be presented a black screen messaging that the original disc is required, no ripping tools allowed, visit something.continuemovie.com, or something equivalent. The playback then is either stopped or affected (segments of the movie are swapped around, repeated or in wrong order). Also the users that don't use clone mode and backup Main Movie only (no Java running, no active protection) are having a problem with picking the right Title or playlist for some movies, because the disc is filled with fake playlists with the same runtime, but subtle differences.
StealthyClone: To fight against piracy is what everyone should always bear in mind, but it does not mean that making backups of what one 100% owns and strictly keeping the backup under personal use is illegal. Based on this simple philosophy, DVDFab Team is determined to facilitate this. After a lot of pre-researches and days after days' efforts, it comes up with a unique StealthyClone technology, which allows Blu-ray owners to make copies of their original discs so that the genuine ones, usually costly, are well preserved. It is the world's first solution to deal with pass screen and structural protection, so that the backup disc will appear as if it is the original one, regardless of the fact that it is unprotected. In this way, users that want to keep the original menus and artwork of the disc are not forced to give them up any more, because the protection is rendered useless. When the protected disc is being determined if it is original and is asking through Java means about various files and performs checks on them, StealthyClone is hooked in and answers to this problem. This way, the protection cannot tell if it is a clone or not and will continue with the correct playback of the movie.
Correct Main Playlist: Not only will the Full Disc (clone mode) users be satisfied with this solely developed technology, it is said that Main Movie users will also benefit from this, as a new, better-than-ever algorithm to select the correct playlist when in Main Movie mode from the hundreds of fake ones when it is being experimented. So, a fake playlist's elimination method in Main Movie mode will be implemented.
