DuPont Packaging Awards Tetra Pak For Continued Innovation

VERNON HILLS, Ill., May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For Tetra Pak®, the world's leading food processing and packaging solutions company, innovation has been one of the mainstays of the company's survival and growth since its foundation.

As recognition for the company's commitment to groundbreaking packaging innovation, Tetra Pak received the first DuPont Silver Anniversary Award for Excellence in Continuing Innovation. The first-of-its-kind award honors winners of five or more previous DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation throughout the program's 25-year history.

Tetra Pak has received five awards since 1995 for its carton packaging and processing technology. This award marks the sixth for the company, and honors the consistent leadership demonstrated by Tetra Pak by investing over the long term on developing products and services that provide value to brands and consumers. For more than 60 years, Tetra Pak has pioneered new technologies and cutting edge solutions that have helped change the food packaging landscape and improve the health, safety and nutrition for billions of consumers around the world.

The DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation is the industry's longest-running, global, independently judged celebration of innovation and collaboration throughout the value chain. Each year an esteemed panel awards diamond, gold or silver honours based on "excellence" in one or all of three categories: Innovation; Sustainability; and Cost/Waste Reduction. This year the independent judges granted one diamond, four gold and 10 silver awards for packaging in a diverse set of markets.
