NEW YORK, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dunkin' Donuts, America's all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, announced today a year-long partnership with The USO of Metropolitan New York. The program kick-off coincides with the return of Fleet Week to the ports of New York City. Dunkin' Donuts will serve coffee and baked goods to the visiting Sailors, Marines and Coastguardsmen at the USO Pier-Side Mobile Pop-up Center throughout the week of May 21 -27. In support of the USO's efforts around Fleet Week, Dunkin' Donuts will provide breakfast service every morning to the visiting members of the sea-services and will also make a cash donation of $10,000 to The USO of Metropolitan New York.
"We couldn't think of a better way to launch our partnership with The USO of Metropolitan New York than by serving the heroes as they come to New York for Fleet Week," said Cathy Chavenet, Senior Field Marketing Manager for Dunkin' Brands in Metro New York. "The USO helps so many people on a daily basis and Dunkin' Donuts is proud to be partnering with them for this program."
As part of this partnership, Dunkin' Donuts plans to donate gift cards, travel mugs, and over 1,000 pounds of coffee and baked goods in support of over thirty military appreciation programs throughout the year including homecomings, deployments, wounded warrior retreats, family appreciation days, and so much more. The Dunkin' Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation is committed to ensuring the safety of our neighborhoods through partnerships with organizations such as the USO.
"This partnership is incredibly impactful to the USO and our mission of lifting the spirits of America's troops and their families. These budget relieving donations make so many of our programs possible. Coffee is one of the most highly requested items in our USO Centers and we are proud to partner with Dunkin' Donuts to serve our brave men and women in uniform," said Brian C. Whiting, President & CEO for USO of Metropolitan New York.
