DETROIT, Nov. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the holiday season gets underway, DTE Energy offers designer decorating tips to ensure customers' lights, trees and other decorations are festive, beautiful and – most importantly – safe.
While more than 86 percent of us decorate our homes to celebrate the holiday season, these traditions also increase the risk for fire and electric shock. According to the American Red Cross, more than 47,000 fires occur each year during the winter holidays.
In a series of videos, interior designer Mary Ann Bury shares decorating secrets and provides tips on safe tree decorating, holiday safety for kids and pets, and decorating vintage trees. She also gives information on safely storing holiday decorations after an enjoyable and festive holiday season.
