DTE Energy Launches Facebook Page to Spark Energy Efficiency Conversation

DETROIT, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy today announced it has launched a Facebook page dedicated to energy efficiency. The site will provide information on the company's Your Energy Savings programs and offer a forum for residential customers to exchange ideas on how to save money by saving energy.  The page is available at facebook.com/yourenergysavings.

"We know many of our customers are interested in energy efficiency.  Facebook provides a terrific vehicle for us to share information with them – and get their feedback," said Emmett Romine, DTE Energy's manager of energy optimization.  "We're hoping to create an online community where people can talk about their ideas and experiences with making their homes more energy efficient."

The page will feature energy efficiency tips, videos, podcasts, links to other sites, a calendar of events and more.  Energy-efficiency-themed contests and games will be added in the near future.

DTE Energy's Your Energy Savings initiative offers customers a wide array of energy efficiency programs, including appliance recycling, in-home energy audits, low-income weatherization assistance, and rebates and discounts on energy efficient light bulbs, programmable thermostats, clothes washers and more.
