DTE Energy announces several senior executive appointments within company's electric business
DETROIT, Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy today announced several senior executive appointments within its electric business, effective immediately.
Heather Rivard, vice president, Distribution Operations, is named senior vice president, Distribution Operations. Rivard, who has been with DTE since 1993, has served in several positions across the company and, since joining Distribution Operations in 2015, has played a key role in a multi-year investment strategy to improve reliability performance while reducing costs for customers. Throughout Rivard's tenure, the company has improved reliability of nearly 450 circuits and has continued this program in 2016. Rivard will continue to lead a multi-year effort to drive overall reliability performance and cost reduction, with plans to upgrade more than one third (1,300) of the company's total circuits (3,300) over the next four to five years.
Marco Bruzzano, vice president, Corporate Strategy, has been named vice president, Distribution Operations. Bruzzano joined DTE in 2008 after working broadly across the energy industry for nearly two decades, including roles with McKinsey and Booz Allen Hamilton advising global energy companies. In his new role, Bruzzano will focus on the company's multi-year effort to improve overall reliability, while reducing costs and keeping energy affordable for customers.
Frank Warren, vice president, Fossil Generation, is named senior vice president, Fossil Generation, the DTE business unit responsible for all of DTE's coal-fired power generation. Warren, who joined DTE in 2001, has been instrumental in planning for the generational portfolio transformation to address aging coal plant infrastructure, and the desire for clean energy sources. Warren will continue work on the more than decade-long transformation of the system.
Matthew Paul, executive director, Generation Optimization and Fuel Supply, is named to vice president, Plant Operations for the company's fossil generation business. In this role, Paul will be responsible for reshaping the aging fossil generation fleet into cleaner, renewable sources of energy, including natural gas generation. Paul's accomplishments in his previous role – including the re-alignment of resources within generation optimization to create efficiencies – will be critical in the company's generation shift over the next decade.
"As our business embarks upon the most significant change in more than 50 years, we need to ensure we have leaders who have the vision and ability to move the company into the future," said Jerry Norcia, president and chief operating officer, DTE Energy. "These leadership appointments allow us to focus on the future, resulting in cleaner, more affordable sources of energy for our customers – something they've asked for, and we're committed to delivering."
