DTE Energy and Vectorform revolutionize technician training through Virtual Reality

Over the next year, Vectorform and DTE Energy will begin implementing VR training using the innovative HTC Vive^® platform, currently used in many gaming applications. By wearing the Vive headset, technicians will be able to:

• Experience visual immersion with a 110-degree field of view, complemented by 360-degree motion tracking
• Retain real-world awareness, as the experience blends both virtual and real elements
• Adapt next-generation training simulations that includes full-room sensing – allowing technicans to be able to walk around and train in a life-like virtual space, without exposure to the real-world dangers they'd typically encounter
