DTE Energy adds two energy-savings tools to web site
Energy Efficiency House, Lighting Guide offers savings tips
DETROIT, Nov. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy has just renovated its Energy Efficiency House, bolstering it with more than 100 energy saving tips that can be applied in every room of your house.
The Energy Efficiency House, meanwhile, offers tips galore for every room in the house. The House shows that becoming more energy efficient – and reducing energy bills – is really quite easy, from just turning off electronics when you're not using them, to reducing your water heater temperature to 120 degrees.
The site also provides links to other information so customers can take control of their energy use and save on their energy bills.
The new Lighting Guide, meanwhile, takes a comprehensive look at modern lighting, showing which bulbs are the most energy efficient and cost effective.
The Lighting Guide also shows where bulbs can be purchased at special DTE Energy discounted prices. The Guide is continually updated with new information.
The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, for example, phases out the manufacture of inefficient incandescent light bulbs Jan. 1. Once retailers run out of stock they will be gone forever. Plus, the number of watts will no longer be an indicator of light output and everyone will have to learn a new way to choose a light bulb. The Lighting Guide can help.
The DTE Energy web sites – dteenergy.com/house and dteenergy.com/LightingGuide – provide instant savings when customers implement the tips.
