DST Health Solutions' CareAnalyzer Achieves NCQA HEDIS Certification for 12th Consecutive Year
NCQA-Certified CareAnalyzer HEDIS Software Helps Health Plans Measure Quality and Lower Audit Requirements
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DST Health Solutions, LLC, today announced that it has earned National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) Software Certification(SM) [1] for its CareAnalyzer® HEDIS® [2] product, as it has done successfully since 2002. This product calculates the comprehensive set of performance measures to support annual audit and reporting requirements that all United States health plans seeking NCQA accreditation must meet. Software vendors must make source code changes to comply with the measures and gain certification each year. By utilizing a certified vendor, organizations can reduce costs associated with HEDIS requirements, verify compliance via precise, automated testing and satisfy the manual source code portion of the NCQA HEDIS Compliance Audit™, along with meeting other quality measures required by State agencies.
"DST Health Solutions is committed to providing our clients with the ability to manage tasks, such as HEDIS Compliance Audits, as efficiently as possible," said Steve Sabino, president, DST Health Solutions. "We pride ourselves on delivering not only software solutions, but also the knowledge and insight that being a solutions provider for more than 35 years provides."
NCQA validates software integrity by generating unique "test decks" that test denominator, numerator and exclusion logic of software systems, thereby ensuring the accuracy of a program's measured results. Through this process, CareAnalyzer HEDIS was compared to the expected results and was deemed compliant with all NCQA specifications.
"After five years with a previous vendor, Hudson Health Plan was looking for a vendor who could bring stability to this process," says Ian Flor, Director, Data Operations and Project Management, Hudson Health Plan. "Our implementation could not have gone smoother and over a year into our relationship, we are continually impressed by the depth of industry knowledge and professionalism displayed by DST Health Solutions."
