DSMC Confirms Lockheed Martin to Discuss Battlefield Support at Joint Precision Fires Future Conference
Lockheed Martin will provide a Keynote Speaker to talk about battlefield support - both long range precision fires and close air support missions - at the Joint Precision Fires Future (JPF2 2016) Conference.
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Joint Precision Fires Future (JPF2 2016) Conference in the UAE announces today a Key Note Speaker for the Conference will come from Headline Sponsor Lockheed Martin. Mr. Tom Stanton, Director of International Business Development, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, has confirmed that his address will include an update on the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), a highly mobile, combat-proven launcher with an outstanding reputation for dependability in service since 2005.

According to Mr. Stanton, with a 99-percent operational readiness rate over the past 10 years, HIMARS remains one of the most reliable systems used by the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and international customers. HIMARS has been proven to support lighter, more mobile fighting forces. The launcher is C-130 transportable, making it deployable into areas inaccessible to heavier launchers. HIMARS has expanded its global presence and is currently serving multiple international markets, including the UAE, Jordan and Singapore.
"HIMARS has proven itself extremely reliable and effective in combat," said Mr. Stanton. "We continue to have strong interest from nations that require a mobile, dependable asset on the battlefield to support both long-range precision fires and close air support missions."
Self-reloading, the HIMARS system is capable of firing the entire family of MLRS munitions, including six Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets or one Tactical Missile System (TACMS) missile. The HIMARS fire control system, electronics and communications units are interchangeable with the existing MLRS M270A1 launcher, and the crew and training are the same. HIMARS provides increased responsiveness, increased crew protection and increased effectiveness against time-critical targets and the adaptable platform is positioned to support future weapon pod variants supporting conventional and Special Forces operations around the globe.
Designed to enable troops to engage and defeat artillery, air defense concentrations, trucks, light armor and personnel carriers, as well as support troop and supply concentrations, HIMARS can move away from the area at high speed following missile launch, well before enemy forces are able to locate the launch site. This interoperability offers a crucial capability to militaries and ensures relevance for decades to come.
Mr. Matthew Cochran, Chairman & CEO of Defense Services Marketing Council (DSMC) said, "The inaugural JPF2 2016 Conference will address urgent topics which include a growing need for timely and accurate precision fires, investing in a robust C2/ISR network to support the interoperability among the GCC coalition countries and the need for greater collaboration by all stakeholders in Joint Precision Fires operations. We are honored that Lockheed Martin have agreed to be our Headline Sponsor and provide a Keynote Speaker to this important conference. DSMC has been announced as the Strategic Consultant to the JPF2 2016 Committee and will work to invite both speakers and delegates from the GCC Armed Forces and around the globe."
The Joint Precision Fires Future (JPF2 2016) Conference will take place in Abu Dhabi, UAE at the Armed Forces Officers Club on November 16, 2016.
