DRS Technologies Wins Contract to Continue its Support for Arleigh Burke-Class Guided Missile Destroyers Modernization Program
ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DRS Technologies, a Finmeccanica Company, announced today that its Laurel Technologies business unit in Johnstown, PA., has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity five-year contract with a total potential value of up to $22 million for upgrades to the repair station consoles (RSC) on DDG 51-class ships.
RSC systems automate and integrate shipboard damage control communications to increase the survivability of battle-damaged ships. Under the contract, DRS will continue to provide RSC-associated training sets, engineering services, support and spare parts. Work will be performed at various ship homeports in the United States as well as overseas and is expected to be completed by September 2018.
DRS is a leader in the delivery of high-quality, low-cost display and processing technology products for Naval platforms. For more than 25 years, through its Maritime Systems & Services business unit, the company has provided more than 8,000 consoles and processing racks for a very diverse set of Naval requirements.
