BOSTON, Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Drizly, the nation's first and largest online alcohol marketplace, announced today its availability in Michigan for the first time, introducing its revolutionary way to shop for adult beverages to the Greater Lansing area. Drizly connects adults of legal drinking age with best-in-class local alcohol retailers, like Big 10 Party Stores, making it easy for consumers to shop for beer, wine, and spirits by simply downloading the Drizly mobile app (App Store and Google Play), or visiting Drizly.com.
Big 10 Party Stores, which is family owned and has been locally operated for more than 25 years, will be serving adult beverage shoppers from its locations in Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos and Holt. Orders can be delivered within one hour, at a conveniently scheduled time, or reserved for in-store pickup. Beyond alcohol, Drizly users can shop for ice, mixers, and more. There is no price markup, and a modest delivery fee of $5 per order stays the same no matter how many items are ordered. In-store pickup is free of charge. Drizly provides its partner retailers with a proprietary ID verification technology that enables delivery personnel to scan IDs and confirm that customers are of legal drinking age upon delivery.
"We're thrilled to be the first to offer the convenience of Drizly to shoppers in Michigan," said Pete Youngs, owner of Big 10 Party Stores. "This partnership enables us to better serve our customers, and creates opportunities for us to grow by reaching the right new prospects."
"We are honored to have Big 10 Party Stores onboard as our launch retailer in Michigan. Its reputation throughout the Greater Lansing area is stellar," said Justin Robinson, Drizly's SVP of New Business & Co-Founder. "Pete and his team have embraced everything Drizly has to offer its customers, along with the inventory management tools, data insights and other benefits geared to help them grow."
Drizly, available in more than 70 cities across the U.S. and Canada, is a one-stop shop for beer, wine, and spirits (and even a range of popular soft drinks, juices, ice and other mixers), allowing consumers to arrange fast, on-demand or scheduled delivery or in-store pickup through their favorite local liquor store. Shoppers are able to scroll through the ultimate endless-aisle experience on iPhone, Android, or Drizly.com, and utilize helpful tools like quick search, favorites tagging, and price comparison across multiple retailers.
