Driven By Nationwide Fan Demand, Tommy Wiseau's The Room Returns To Cinemas
The Film Will Have a Limited Time Run in Theaters This February and March
NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Screenvision Media, a national leader in cinema advertising, in association with KAOS Connect, renowned event cinema creators, and Tommy Wiseau Films today announced special, limited screenings of the wildly popular cult classic, Tommy Wiseau's The Room. A must-see film so legendary a New York Times Best Selling Book and Oscar nominated Hollywood movie was made to tell its story. Due to high demand from fans across the country, the film will return to U.S. movie theaters on February 21, 23, 26, and March 5, 6, and 8. As an added bonus for viewers, Tommy Wiseau has prepared a special welcome message to be included in the preshow. Also included will be exclusive, never-before-seen content, and a sneak peek at the Best F(r)iends trailer, starring Wiseau and Greg Sestero.
Tickets for Tommy Wiseau's The Room can be purchased online at www.theroom.movie or at participating theater box offices. A complete list of participating theater locations is also available on the website (theaters and participants are subject to change).
Starring, directed, written, produced, and screenplay by Tommy Wiseau, The Room follows the story of Johnny (Wiseau). Johnny is a bank employee who, seemingly, lives happily in a San Francisco townhouse with Lisa, his fiancée. One day she gets bored with Johnny and seduces his best friend, Mark (played by Wiseau's best friend, Greg Sestero, who went on to write the New York Times Best Selling 2013 memoir The Disaster Artist). Johnny screams, "You're tearing me apart, Lisa!"—and with that, nothing, or no one, will ever be the same.
"I couldn't be prouder of how The Room is experiencing a huge revival due to the nominations and awards recently received by The Disaster Artist," said Tommy Wiseau. "During this limited-time run, I'm excited to give fans access to exclusive content not yet seen on the big screen."
"Following the release of The Disaster Artist, we've seen an incredible surge in curiosity about The Room from across the country. We're thrilled to be able to bring it back to theaters one more time for fans," said Darryl Schaffer, EVP, operations and exhibitor relations, Screenvision Media.
