BOSTON, Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton is expanding its Construction Services Group with the addition of Brian Driscoll to its operations in Boston. Driscoll, a respected expert in construction risk management, surety and Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI), joins Lockton, the world's largest privately held independent insurance broker, to advise clients on complex risk.
"Brian will help build on Lockton's deep expertise in construction, design, and engineering," said Tim Ryan, chief operating officer of Lockton's Northeast U.S. operations. "Our clients will benefit from his thoughtful leadership and skills at structuring and managing risk management programs for construction firms and projects."
Lockton has a 50-year history in the construction business and is committed to the industry through continual investments into expertise and national and global growth. Driscoll will be focused on business development, advising clients, and supporting construction firms with complex risk management programs. He joins Lockton as an Executive Vice President and Producer.
"Lockton continues to grow and invest in the Boston market," said Chip Manozzi, president of Lockton's Boston operations. "Boston business leaders have welcomed our unique approach to solving risk management challenges, and this is an important step to support our clients and our business for the long-term."
Driscoll has more than 37 years of experience in construction risk management. He started his career with J. Barry Driscoll Insurance Agency which specializes in construction insurance and bonds. Driscoll became president of the agency before working as managing director at Aon's construction services group. After almost a decade of building that operation, leading the regional construction group and enhancing executive and underwriting relationships there, Driscoll joins Lockton to advise clients on construction risk.
Additionally, Driscoll stays engaged and informed about surety and bond issues by being an active member for a number of professional organizations. He is past president of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, the New England Surety Association, the Surety Association of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Building Congress.
Driscoll holds a bachelor's degree from Boston College where he was a scholarship hockey player. He founded the Driscoll Family Hockey Scholarship with his siblings and late father, which awards a scholarship to one male and one female Boston College hockey player each year. The family set up the foundation in 2001 as a way to help academically and athletically motivated students succeed.
In addition to the scholarship fund, Driscoll has been involved with the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club for more than 30 years and sits on the Board of Advisors. He also sits on the Board of Governors at Tufts Medical Center and has sponsored scholarships at Nativity Preparatory School in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Lockton's Boston office is at One International Place, Suite 1630, Boston, MA 02110. The phone number is 617-880-1500.
